The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is a standardized, multiple-choice examination designed and administered by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) for prospective medical students in the U.S. and Canada. The exam provides assessment in terms of problem solving, critical thinking, and knowledge based on science concepts and principles prerequisite to the study of medicine.

AAMC is a non-profit association representing all 141 accredited U.S. and 17 accredited Canadian medical schools, as well as nearly 400 major teaching hospitals and health systems. Through these institutions and organizations, AAMC represents 128,000 faculty members, 75,000 medical students, and 110,000 resident physicians.  In addition to administering the MCAT exam, AAMC offers test preparation materials to help test takers prepare for the exam. For details of the exam and how to register, please go directly to the official AAMC website at

A 7-hr long test delivered in its entirety on computer, MCAT is a high-stake exam deployed through a highly structured testing model by Prometric Inc., on behalf of the AAMC. The model includes very strict and secure check-in and breaking procedures (biometric and image capture), all under CCTV monitoring surveillance. The site/staff being selected to administer MCAT must go through formal  inspection, training and certification process upon review on an annual basis.

Franklin Education’s main campus at Highway 401 and McCowan Road North has been hosting MCAT since the summer of 2013.  Our convenient location with ample parking space plus  highly accessible and modern facilities has proven to be the preferred alternative to downtown sites by many candidates.

Important Notice: In 2015, the MCAT exam will be revised to reflect significant changes in the medical professions. These revisions and updates, according to the AAMC, will improve and further enrich the MCAT exam by giving attention to the concepts tomorrow’s doctors will need.

  • Natural sciences sections of the MCAT2015 exam reflect recent changes in medical education.

  • Addition of the social and behavioral sciences section, Psychological, Social and Biological Foundations of Behavior, recognizes the importance of socio-cultural and behavioral determinants of health and health outcomes.

  • And the new Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills section reflects the fact that medical schools want well-rounded applicants from a variety of backgrounds.
